  Gold life is great, and this light kit remote works from 150' away. I added 200' of 16AWG SJOOW

  First of all I want to give credit to Goldlife. Before I made my purchase I contacted them to see if I could extend the cord on a different light kit. I explained I needed 300'. They patiently answered all of my concerns and suggested this light with a built in controller which is fed line voltage 120v. I lengthened it with their recommended 16AWG SJOOW cord. I used watertight IP 68 connector which turned out not to be watertight and tripped my GFI but thats nothing to do with Goldlife or the light kit. I have the connector out of the water temporarily until I find a diferent connector to use but the light is working fabulously. Goldlife told me that the controller range was only 100' and I asked if I put it on a timer would it restart on the last setting and they said yes. I was good with that and figured I could row the boat out occasionally to make a change. To my surprise I was able to easily control it from 140' and moved out to 200" before it stopped making contact. I installed this light on a homemade fountain that's been installed long before I moved here but never had lights. In my case the DIY fountan has a 4" pvc pipe and I needed it to go around it. Upon looking at the light I was able to trim away some of the collar without getting near the potted light ring. This made it roughly 4 1/2" which worked well for me. I read a ton of reviews and took a tip from someone who said he had an early failure from water intrusion where the cord entered and I used a high grade silicone to seal that as a precaution. Thank you Goldlife for helping me with this project. I hope it last a good long time because it looks great and I can even control it from shore 150' away.
